Dora Toovey, born Bathurst, NSW, with W.B. McInnes at the National Gallery School, Melbourne and with Dattilo Rubbo and James Jackson at the Royal Art School, Sydney. She studied in England and France 1926-29. She married James R. Jackson in 1922.
