Biography

Helen Geier gained her Diploma of Art at the National Art School (ESTC) in 1968. From 1968 to 1969 she taught art at Kingsgrove High School in Sydney as well as gaining her Teaching Certificate at Alexander Mackie Teachers College. In 1970 she travelled to London pursuing postgraduate qualifications from St Martin’s School of Art and after returning to Australia in 1974 at RMIT University, Melbourne, then joined Prahran College of Advanced Education as a lecturer. She taught at the Canberra School of Art (now ANU School Art and Design) from 1978 to 1994, later working from her home studio near Braidwood, NSW.
