Abstract
This exhibition of prints, made in the APW studios in collaboration with APW printers works to take you beyond the mere ideas of abstraction or design; instead working to become tools for communicating complex ideas about identity, culture, history, and human experience.
Be it using familiar forms as frameworks for ideas or symbolism that silently holds a connection to something much larger, each artist utilizes abstract elements to convey deeply personal, cultural, and historical stories. The narrative that emerges from this collection of prints is one of transformation — of how we interact with and understand worlds both familiar and opaque, and more importantly how shape and form can be vessels, holding our experiences – some collective and some uniquely our own.
