Abstract

Tony Woods (1940-2017) was born in Hobart and lived in Fitzroy for many years. When he was young, he received critical notice and curatorial attention as a painter, but first upset his supporters in the late 1960s with a turn from figuration to abstraction—a signal of a lifelong openness that would characterise his oeuvre as a painter, draughtsman, and filmmaker.
For two days only, Keeper Print Room is presenting a selection of works on paper by Woods that demonstrate his broad experimentation in printmaking, which encompassed both traditional and DIY methods. [Keeper Print Room, media 2026].
