Abstract
Dakoji, a practising printmaker, discusses the 1950s and 1960s in India as years of experimentation in printmaking. In the 1970s printmaking was dropped from the curriculum of many art schools, the Lalit Kala Akademi being an exception. The studio Atelier 2221 in New Delhi has been established to encourage printmaking in India.
