Abstract

Sarah Thomas rethinks printmaking in Australia in the 1950s and 60s focusing on the works produced by Australian women during this period. Works by Karin Schepers, Barbara Hanrahan, Tina Lawton from South Australia and Barbara Brash, and Mary Macqueen from Melbourne are illustrated. Thomas links these artists to women in the 1920s and 30s who were the major printmaking artists of their time.
